You can block messages from certain users. Just select/block Steve and 99% of the spam will be gone

 

can i set it to only allow messages from ppl on my list??

fairly obvious I know - but it helps a bit......

no patches as far as i know to stop it, i'm still looking for the one to stop my punk newbie *** getting shot on CS let alone stopping the spam on ICQ.....

 

Go to your security and privacy menu. In there you should be able to set it so that only people in your list can meesage you, which is all well and good, but what happens when a new contact wants to chat?

Its best IMHO to just disable www pager messages and email express. That will cut out 99% of the spam you're getting.
