Much higher resolution I'd have thought. Don't have an iPod and not looked at what's needed app-wise, but I'd try to download in higher resolution and convert down for the iPod using something like iSquint or Handbrake, keeping the hi-res version for TV playback.

Can play SD from the touch and it looks ok but needs a special cable that only apple were making a few weeks ago (my boss got one and I kept hearing about it).

Didn't Apple disable tv out for the very latest Ipods?

Hank, OT but is there a way to make the touch into a drive on a PC, like you could with older pods?

Apple have an odd order for the 3 leads. Take them all out and add them 1 at a time into all three and video will appear.

That last story sounds familiar so my boss was tied to the specific (and expensive) cable.

Sorry, I've no idea on the PC thing, I'm not an apple fan at all but my boss is a real fanboy, he's got loads so I'll ask him.

I ran Windows 95 on my PSP last week if that's any use...?

Previous generation iPods that had video capabilities would provide TV-Out via the headphone socket and/or the 30-pin Dock connector. As said by others, Apple changed this with the latest generation models and thus the headphone socket will not output video, you will need one of the official Apple AV cables which connects to the 30-pin dock connector.

With regards to using the new iPods as a drive. The hard drive based ones might allow this, but I know for sure that flash based iPods cannot be used as a drive, though I seem to recall that this may be changed in a future software update for the iPods.
