ah, so can you use the component out to get Sky HD in another room ? Obviously you'd have to watch the same channel.
Anyone done it ?

I'm fairly sure you choose one or the other output. In the setup it will say "HDMI" for example.
I think that means you wouldnt be able to do it.
I'll check when I get home tonight.

Some future facility I guess - They certainly do bugger all at the moment. When I got my box I was hoping it meat I could easily back up the HDD - but nope. I also hoped it meant I could stream HD media from the PC - but nope.

Yes that is exactly what I have done, the HDMI output runs the TV in the lounge and the RF output runs the kitchen TV

ah, nice one.
Was having a look around - I see you can get an HDMI splitter too, which costs £70 approx.

That's not the same as running the component out to another room whilst running another screen on HDMI. Obviously the RF out is not going to be HD.

The component out won't carry audio either of course.

Indeed, you will either need to get a long phono lead, or the mother of all TOSlinks if you want surround

yeah, or use the HDMI splitter and run a 10m HDMI lead to the other room.
