HI, my friends comp has been messed on with by his family while he was on holiday.Everything on the desktop is huge,start button,icons,etc we think its the screen area that should be changed,800 x600?,he cant see/use the mouse ,how does he change it using only the key pad?

Either press the key with the Windows logo on or Ctrl+Esc if you don't jave a windows keyboard. This will bring up the start menu. You can then use the arrow keys to navigate the menu, enter to select.

You want Settings = Control Panel - Display
You'll need to use combination of arrow and tab keys in Control Panel and the display item.
