Acer? Advent?
Going to buy my youngest a laptop for his 18th. He's found a few, but they are names I've not heard of
ADVENT 9315 Laptops - Review cheap ADVENT Laptop deals - Dixons.co.uk
Buy ACER ASPIRE 5633/5710 | 15" widescreen laptop - Laptops | Comet
Anyone know anything about either/both makes?
He'll be using it for internet, college work, university next year, and music storage.
What does "Wireless enabled" mean? We have a wireless system in the home, will it access this without modification?
Thanks for any advice, Alcazar

Dont know about Acer but when i was lookign for a laptop i had a look at a few advent models. Didnt like the build quality, found them quite plasticy and not very sturdy.
Ended up going for a Helett packardmyself, something similar too this.

Wireless enabled should connect to your network without any modifications.

the acer 5633 is a good model although a little old these days , and the 9315 model is as SDW says a little plasticy for my liking , but unfortunately you get what you pay for these days.
