firewall settings in vista ??

Default firewall settings in vista ??

Anyone tell me how to adjust the firewalll settings on Vista ?? mate at work has recently purchased a new laptop which has vista installed, tried hooking up to msn but after a few seconds he gets a message saying cannot connect and to check firewall settings.

any advice much appreciatted.

Can he get a webpage up at all? say google or something?

Yep can access the web just not msn.

any suggestions on how to get into the firewall settings and adjust them would be great as I am sure it just that they are set too high.

From the new control panel...

Control panel -> Security -> Allow a program through windows firewall

or from the classic layout

Control panel -> Windows firewall -> etc

You wouldn't expect to see MSN blocked by the firewall to be honest - Which is why I asked if he can see websites.
