MicroSoft Slash XBOX Prices-from Friday!
"From Friday, 24th August 2007, new estimated retail pricing will come into effect for Xbox 360 in Europe.
The Xbox 360, which includes a 20GB hard drive and one wireless controller, will be reduced by £30 to carry an estimated retail price of £249.99.
The entry-level Xbox 360 Core console, perfect for those wishing to make their first foray into the gaming and entertainment world of Xbox, will be reduced by £20 to carry an estimated retail price of £179.99."
Expect further heavy discounting in the shops.

The fact they have increased the warranty is nothing short of the very least they should be doing - And that's exactly what they have done - The very least they can get away with. .

Amen to that. At least we can play excellent games now rather than waiting hopefully for something decent to be released whilst the machine gathers dust
It's all about the games not the hardware for me, and at the moment the PS3 just hasn't got anything particularly worth getting, and has nothing coming out in the near future. Even the integral blu-ray player isn't the best one out there...

Then they would just give me a new one that works! Besides I bought it from Game and they put a seal on the box that once broken meant it was non-returnable unless faulty.

Am I correct in saying that the only thing the Elite brings to the party is a fancy new colour and and HDMI port + cable. I ignored it on that basis since my amp is all out of HDMI inputs so I've just used the component inputs.
