so expect prices and deals lower than those above. With Halo 3, PGR4 and Bioshock (average review rating of 99%!!) it's a great time to get one.

It's true - the XBOX is as reliable as a 15 year old TVR - or, a modified Impreza

They now have 3 year cover, up from 12 months...still does not fix the problems though. Wait for the new one to come out or buy a PS3

Already got a PS3, and no way am I spending *more* money with MS

The fact they have increased the warranty is nothing short of the very least they should be doing - And that's exactly what they have done - The very least they can get away with. .

Amen to that. At least we can play excellent games now rather than waiting hopefully for something decent to be released whilst the machine gathers dust

It's all about the games not the hardware for me, and at the moment the PS3 just hasn't got anything particularly worth getting, and has nothing coming out in the near future. Even the integral blu-ray player isn't the best one out there...

Isn't the PS3 programmed to fail a week after the warranty has run out just like the PS2 was?

Not the best but still very good for the money , Better than my Denon 1920 upscaler by quite a margin. Plus you get a free games console.

Then they would just give me a new one that works! Besides I bought it from Game and they put a seal on the box that once broken meant it was non-returnable unless faulty.

Am I correct in saying that the only thing the Elite brings to the party is a fancy new colour and and HDMI port + cable. I ignored it on that basis since my amp is all out of HDMI inputs so I've just used the component inputs.
