Space Giraffe is nearly here ..
Apparently Space Giraffe will be finally launched in the next week or two. I like Jeff Minter games, so we'll see how good this is. Only 400 points as well...

I've been following his web blob on stinkin' thinkin' and the game is looking every bit as mad as you'd expect. Looking forward to it

The programmer, Jeff Minter, goes back to days of yore, programming on the early 80's computers, through Atari Jaguars, Nuons, and god knows what else, up to present day, where he programs Xbox360
He's a self-confessed Llama lover - read into that what you will
From the look of his games, you could almost say he codes whilst out of his mind on assortment of substances(!)

As far as I'm aware, it's the first Giraffe based game he's released
Besides, Bioshock is just another fps, GT5 /Forza are just more driving games but they seem to get kudos too...

Would have taken a bloody looong time! I know he used to 6502 back in the days of Vic20/C64 and 68000 on the ST but I would have thought he might have gone for something a bit more productive now like (relatively speaking!) C.
Anyone used XNA at all? You can do stuff with c# cant you?

And it is here. Just downloaded it. It is pretty good if you like Tempest, weird sound effects and very confusing visuals. Still, having fun and good for 400 points!

Never bothered with XNA - is it completely free ? I'm currently writing some homebrew on....wait for it...Game Boy Advance! Hugely rewarding to see your little app running on a cartride in a GBA

So whats the procedure for code testing on an Xbox360 ? Or can you only target the PC ?

A bit dodgy that. You can only target the PC for free. If you want to run on the 360, you have to have a "creators club" license which costs about £50 a year. You can then send stuff to the 360, and remote debug etc (I think).
The whole distribution of the 360 xna stuff is a bit naff at the moment, which is why I've not bothered with it much so far, but it is worth keeping an eye on

I met Paul Shirley at a computer show once...
he was demoing a game he,d coded for the CPC464 ,,, just walked up to the
Amtix stand bunged the disk in the drive and said what do you think,,,
Parralax scrolling on the CPC
when pushed for the name of the game and a release date...
he said it was called "zap the bast*rds"
sure enough when it was released... it was called ZTB
Got his autograph somewhere
