I would imagine they figured it out because you will both have the same IP address.

I would have said they would know because both accounts are registered at the same address. Correct?

The IP address is assigned by your Internet Provider, and will be unique to your house, no matter which PC you use to conect to the net, you will always be using the same IP address, or a sub of it. IIRC

Suspended Account

You are prohibited from registering new accounts with eBay, or bidding or selling on eBay using your other existing accounts. eBay reserves the right to suspend existing accounts as well as new accounts opened by anyone in the same household of a suspended user or by any other associates of a suspended user.

Have you used either account to bid or buy on the other? Thats what normally causes the red flagging !!

Its cheating

If not I should imagine its the address they flag rather than the IP as the IP (probably) is dynamic and they dont stop people logging in from the same computer for example a library computer sees many ebay accounts per day!!

Shill bidding.
I spotted someone doing it on an item I won last year.
Ebay froze both accounts then deleted the account that shill bids came from.
Ebay didn't remove the shill bids though, so I paid more than I should have done. As it was less than £10 it wasn't the end of the earth though.

Yes. But seems to much hassle for that. Search the net for an IP Mask instead. It will allow you to log on without them seeing your real IP address.
Are both accounts registered at the same address?

Then thats probably why. I don't think they are bothered about IP address's so much. But if both accounts are registerd to the same house, there is your answer.

Is there a way round it? Would putting a different address number when registering work? Or would that muck the pay pal bit up? Is there a way to open a new account at the same address ?

Having two accounts at the same address shouldn't be an issue. They'll have flagged you for something else. I'd see if your son has been using your account to bump up bids....

Didn't read my post either.

His account has been suspended by eBay. eBay reserve the right to suspend anyone in the same household.

My advice, if you're in the wrong take it like a man and don't expect any help here. If not, contact eBay to get the problem resolved. Simple.
