Firstly, get yourself some webspace, and all the login details.
I Use United Hosting
Then purchase a domain name using a registration company.
I Use UKREG
Then get yourself a html editor.
I Use Dreamweaver

There's some tutorials in Dreamweaver on how to get started

Eventually you'll have something that looks similar to this

The actual web page looks like this

Let me ask you a question or two.

First off can you come up with a decent looking design, or can you use something like photoshop? If you cant then get a designer to do it. Your website is the first thing your potential customers will see, if it looks rubbish, your company doesnt look good in the eyes of your web viewer.

Secondly, why spend time, effort and money learning to do something when you can get somebody to do it for you? If you cant afford to have your site updated regularly and think updating it yourself is the answer get who ever makes the site to factor in a Content Management system, that way you get a decent design, and you can maintain it. There are plenty on the market and they enable you to look after your site through the browser without the expense of additional software.

Take a look at the Scooby SMACS site (cant put the address here but google SMACS), it is maintained online by one of the members through a CMS system.

farmerwrx - there a couple of good web designers on Scoobynet who could also help you. Contact Dream Weaver - I've seen some of his sites and they are very good.
