Thumbs down Don't Like Internet Explorer 7...How Do I Go Back ?

As the title suggests really, I "upgraded" to IE 7, but much prefer the older version (6 ?)

And one suggest how I get rid of it and go back to what I had ?

Ta.

Why don't you like ie7? It's faster and more secure than ie6, and visually the only thing different is the arrangement of buttons on the toolbar...

Cool

I really like IE7, to the point where I think it can't have been written by Microshaft!

Doesn't seem any slower or anything, and the tabs are a big improvement.

I'm not keen on it either to be honest. I like their new media player though!

IE7 and WMP11 all make perfect sense when you use Vista

We will all have to get used to it, sooner or later we will be running Vista.

I've enabled the menu bar in IE7 so I get the old style tool bar.

Cheers

Even if you're not running Vista and stick with XP, you'll need to run IE7 sooner or later just to keep up with the security patches etc (they're bound to stop doing them for ie6 sooner or later)...

IE7 is superb, really enjoying using it now.

It does take some getting used to, but I can't imagine what you miss about IE6? I have IE6 on my laptop, and can't upgrade due to the XP license being revoked (ex works machine) and I hate using that now compared to IE7.

Click on the Tools drop down at the top right and select Menu Bar

Or

Right click on the toolbar (to the right of the tab(s)) and select Menu Bar

I've took IE7 off and ever since my internet connection is really really snow compared to what it was

Have tried the usual things, unplugging modem, resetting etc but it seems no better.

According to BT there's nothing wrong with their broadband output in my area...

Can help ?

With the new Media Player:
How can I have the individual CD Track-Numbers (i.e. 1,2,3,4,...) visible on the right hand vertical side?

I miss the scroll function in the Favourites list. I can no longer use the scroll wheel on my mouse.

Otherwise, they are OK I guess.

I un-installed IE7 too. Just didn't gell with me at all. I really don't like the whole Tab thing. Sounds like I won't like Vista either then

Yes you will.

Just a question of when, whithin a year or so loads of software will be Vista only. Within a few years XP will die.

Good grief - have IE7.

Never used it as I use Firefox - it must have installed automatically

Looks a bit wierd - fonts are odd compared to FF. I see that have learned from FFs lead in this area with some of the features and menus

Strange, IE7 runs much quicker than Firefox for me. It appears to have less bugs as well.

Firefox is another one I dispise. Although not from a users point of view. Whenever I do a webpage that uses CSS styles, which lets face it, a hell of a lot do nowadays, Firefox seems to decided which css styles it wants to use, and which it doesn't. So a page can look great in IE, then open it in firefox and text is the wrong size, it hasn't done the page slider bars the right colour, and even some cells are the wrong size! Most annoying.
I'm sure firefox is great from a users point of view, but I do wish they'd pull their finger out where it comes to actually displaying what it should be displaying.

Um I think you're getting confused between the application speed and your internet/line speed. The application will not speed up your downloads!

But yes FFox on some ppls systems is alot quicker than IE7, and some find IE7 is better. It depends on the spec of your pc.

I know it can't have altered my connection speed, I said that to get my point across about it working quicker!
