Question xBox 360 WiFi connection

I've bought 360 (Xmas present for my 2 lads) and a WiFi connecter, what is the procedure to connect to my existing WiFi network at home?

I presume you mean the official MS wireless adapter.

Plug in the wireless adpater
Turn on the 360
Go through the steps in the menu
Job done.

It's really simple.

if you want to connect wireless, then you will need an xbox wirless card.... plugs into the xbox..... if you want to go non wireless, then you need to plug the xbox into your router using the supplied ethernet cable....

then its just a matter of connecting to xbl

Question Security

Pete presumably the 360 will allow me to set the same network security parameters as the rest of the system?

If you got a secured network m8 you will have to put the access code into the 360 on one of the setup pages some where and your 360 will pick up the connection on its own.......providing you got the wireless adaptor for the 360 of course.

I just plugged it into the back of the xbox and it signed me on straight away, guess my router wasnt secure then I think its **** though btw. was having problems with my router cutting me off every half hour or so so I just ran a lead directly to the xbox and found online gaming was quicker and smoother. So I have the wireless adaptor doing nothing after spending 60 bleeding quid on it.

I have mine wired from the router, as said above its a more reliable connection for online gaming and dowloading games/demos etc. Leave the WiFi for laptops/PDAs etc which just use the connection for internet. Nothing more annoying than a ****e connection when gaming online.

Thumbs down No

Unfortunately hard wiring isn't an option, both boys use the xBox in their (seperate) rooms, and neither is anywhere near the router, so WiFi it has to be
