Test Drive Unlimited help please
Started playing this properly last night but have a few questions as the manual isn't much help.
I can't go to any bike shop as it says I need to discover all car dealerships. Does this mean I have to drive to everyone I see on my map or does it mean there are some on the map that aren't displayed yet and I need to find them? If so any maps about to say where they are? In fact there is no Saleen shop so is this a US independant or do I need to complete something first to unlock it?
Also what is the best race to earn money in? I started off with an Audi S3 Quattro and couldn't find any online races that weren't full of Saleen owners I ended up doing a timed race that earnt 8k 20 times over lol just so I could go and buy a Ford GT (which absolutely rocks now I have it ) I didn't find any other single player races that earnt more money than 8k.
Any other hints/tips welcome as I am now addicted to this game after getting a decent car but don't realy know what I am doing apart from flashing my headlights to race people who kick my ar$e!

Absolutely top game!
In the early stages, you earn the biggest money by delivering cars/packages.
With the car delivery missions, take your time, don't hit anything and don't drive off the road and you'll get a 50% bonus.
Don't bother with the online races just yet, as you say everyone seems to use the Saleen (available via a US independant south eastern corner of the island).
You usually get the sad teenagers hanging around the main town in their Saleens picking on new players to try and boost their stats.
Oh and DO NOT bother with the hitchhiker and model missions, all you get is vouchers to buy clothes with.

Bikes shops become available after you have discovered all of the car shops.
I've nearly got all of the single player achievements now. Just unlocked the "Driven every road on the island". That one took a while

Iain, kudos to you for getting the 'driven every road' achievement! Not sure if I'll ever manage that one!

you don't need to cover every road, I embarked on doing it one day and I got most of them done and it suddenly fills in all the roads you haven't done. you need to do 97-98% I think.

Dunno about that. I was struggling to find any roads that I hadn't covered at the end. Finally found a small one that I'd missed in a town (about 10ft long) and it gave me the achievement after I'd driven it. Couldn't find any others...

I had a small bit of intersection/slip roads that I was leaving until last, but the achievement unlocked when I (finally!) found my one outstanding courier mission on a stretch of untravelled road. When I went back to the intersection all the small stretches were coloured in.

Going to do some of those delivery missions then to get some more cash, soooo many cars I want to buy + houses to keep them at.
What does it actually mean when it says discover the car dealerships? Drive to them all? Is there any easy way of tracking which ones you have been to and which ones are left to go to?
Also what are the clubs? Dunk I saw you were on a club list when I visited it so sent a request, no idea what its for or what I need to do to get in so if i'm not allowed in then so be it, just did it to see what happened
Cracking game

Yep, you'll have to drive to all the different car dealerships. From memory they should all appear on the in game map - greyed out for ones that haven't been visited and solid black for those you have.
The fold out map inside the box also shows the locations.

Yeah I know it will
But then Forza Motorsport 2
but then would need a decent steering wheel, unless PC one's work on 360's?

Damn, I got a Logitech Momo Steering Wheel, with leather MOMO wheel (the big red one it is), I have a Ferrari Force Feedback one too, with stick shift which I ve only used a couple of times, ironically the newer versions work with xbox and pc, but mine is the pc only version
I havent seen an Xbox wheel that is comparable to the Logitech one I have

Well unlocked the bikes tonight and the ZX10R is The control system riding from the riders helmet view point is just excellent Wheelie central Also did some of the car deliveries at a snails pace to get full money, much better than racing for peanuts.
Where is the Enzo or is it a download car? How do you unlock the Ducati bike shop? Are the car packs on Live worth paying for to download?
TIA

Enzo is available from Ferrari dealerships - it's not a download (look in the main town). That's where I got mine
I've not bought any car packs and to be honest, I've not felt the urge to either. There's plenty in the game already...

Didn't know there were car packs you have to buy to download? or do you mean buy them in the game?
I brought the R34 cause I think every garage should have one
You can unlock the Ducatti bike shop by driving/riding past it mate, same as the Triumph

Cheers guys. Yep there are car packs on Market Place to download at 400 points each I think. I'll have a look for the Enzo and ride past the Ducati dealership later - may be pushing my luck with the Mrs if I go on it first thing this morning having spent the last 2 nights on it solid 'til the early hours.

I'm desperate to get Gears of War or Rainbow Six:Vegas but there's no point at the mo cause I barely get time enough (in my opinion - not the mrs) to play the games I have got
Whats your gamertag? I'll look out for you when I'm having a drive, mines Neanderthal_1976

Just drive past the house (you don't have to leave the road).
The game is quite cleverly thought out, you have to drive around the island to unlock the various races, and the races tend to take you down other roads which aren't the main routes, which in turn makes you travel past other challenges....
Fatman, what's your Gamertag? I'll add you to my friends list and invite you to the Scoobynetters club which I've just set up (will give you 10 achievement points if you haven't yet joined a club).
