Default Need new graphics card NOW!!!!!!!!!!

My old nividia 6800gt built by that pathetic budget manufacturer 'inno3d' has died...only lasted a year ffs.

Now i have my old voodoo 5500 holding the fort until i can order a new one.

I dont want to spend a bomb as new technology becomes old technology so quickly nowadays so its pointless futureproofing.

I play a lot of online games so it must hold up to world of warcraft etc...

I have been reading about various models which are reasonably priced between 70-110 pounds sterling.

the ati x1600 pro 512mb
the ati x850 pro 256mb
the Geforce 7600gs 512mb

any geeks out there that know the best graphics card bargain

BTW i have AGP

Lord Shrek....will the voodoo be able to cope with all my ****??

yeh seen the xfx cards and they look good

why the *** did mesh computers not give me pci-express as opposed to agp

p1sses me off now...the pc is only about 15 months old....agp cards seem more expensive and less range now....grrrr

would it be cheaper to buy a new motherboard in the long run?

well tbh YES! i would go for a good pci-express mobo and maybe you will get a good mobo/video card deal....

otherwise you are just investing in old technology.. (what you know already i know but worth pointing out!)..

I had a inno3d card fail on me after just under a year as well. But I was able to return the card and get a full refund. Must be something about them.

As a matter of interest. Is the PC still under warranty? If so, can you not get it replaced free of charge.

Voodo 5500, make sure you up the direct debit to Powergen to keep it powered !

That was the first and last time I ever spent £250 on a graphics card, you feel kind of flush when you get a 17 grand share dividend and then regret it when its all gone !
