Great way to try Linux on Windows PC
Was doing a bit of surfing and came across this.
VMWare Player is a free virtual machine program that lets a "PC" run inside Windows. Someone has then created a virtual Linux distribution (Fedora) that can be run. I've been playing around for a while and it seems ultra reliable. Here for more info

I was up an running within 2 minutes after downloading the software (all free obviously)

Yep or you can try Knoppix or DSL (Damn Small Linux) that boot straight off a CD and let you run Linux on a windows machine with no performance degradation because its not running in a virtual environment.
