Default simple (free) app to schedule back ups?

at the moment i am using drive image to do a weekly copy of my whole C drive to an external.....simple enough.

however, i wan to set up various smaller daily backups bewteen different pcs on my home network....any nice simple software for this? i have tried using Nero for it but cant figure out how to switch a full back up to an incremental one -hence it keeps adding new full backups of my files each time.

Another vote for Microsofts Synctoy, great little backup utility, with plenty of options, and once it is set up it is so quick to run.

Yeah, had the same problem with the .net framework, had to use 1.1 and then it was all fine. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en for .net 1.1

If you still have the problem let me know - basically there is a specific check in the installation program that looks for .net but they have coded it for a specific version rather than a greater than version. I have modified a version of the installation program that removes the check, so if you have v2.0 installed then you do not need to install v1.1 of .net

Tiggs, this should work as that is how I have used it in the past, but I mapped the networked HD as a drive on my desktop and it all workied fine.

it'll be permission related then, you'll need to right click the folder on PC B, choose security and make sure your remote access has write access.

Also check permissions under the Share tab as well.
