Has anybody been able to update their GPS via Quick GPS Connection?

I've been failing tonight to do it - even updated the quick GPS updater to V2.02

All it says is "Unable to communicate with the file server" followed by "NameResolutionFailure"

please retry download later

Does this mean that the site's down?

Also, will TomTom still work based on out-of-date GPS details?

I presume you mean poi's, not gps, in which case, tt will work with out of date poi's. Just watch where your driving

 

Nah, it was the actual GPS data that gets updated every week from the GlobalLocate website......
