My PGR3 Snapshots . . .
#4
Nice pics
Not really played on a 360 yet, had a quick go on PGR3 in Game a while ago but it looked shocking. The cars were very blocky, no smooth edges, and looking down the road the track wasn't very sharp.
Now I'm guessing this HDTV wasn't displaying in Hi Def mode?
Someone put my mind at ease?!?

Strange. I've played PGR3 on my non-hi-def 42" plasma, and on my brothers 43" hi-def plasma, and it looks great on both. Nice smooth edges etc. I'd guess they were using a naff screen.
PGR3 really isn't the best game out there btw, so don't form an opinion of the 360 solely on than game...

Basically you need:
1) Datel 360 Transfer Kit - RRP Ł9.99. This allows you to connect a 360 memory card to your PC via USB. Available from Amazon, Codejunkies etc.
2) Xplorer360 - This freeware allows you to read the FatX filesystem of the memory card and allows you to add/remove files in conjuction with the above device. Also works reading the 360 HDD (retail USB adapters for the HDD are in progress now).
3) JFetch - Custom app to extract the relevant data from a PGR3 save and patches it to create numerous Jpegs.
The process is pretty simple . . .
Copy PGR3 save from your 360 to a memory card;
Connect memory card to Datel USB device;
Open Xplorer360 and extract the profile.sav file;
Load the profile.sav file into JFetch and give it a folder to out put to;
JFetch dumps the saved photos into said folder
You can also load downloaded gamesaves and use them on your 360, including some XBox1 saves Acheivements cannot be gained this way though (ahem, in most cases ).

Slightly off topic here but if you wanted to use screen shots of your in game footage on a commercial website where do you think you stand legally?
Say you sold Scoobs and ran up GT4 on your PS2 and found some nice scenics spots, who would be bangin on your door first? Subaru? The games company? Sony?
Any thoughts....

Microsofts copyright information on screenshot usage does not seem to cover the XBox, so I guess you'd be okay with that. Sony and others may be different though. If you start mentioning specific products, then you'd need to follow the trademark guidelines. Interesting one.

My example was GT4, could I use a picture from the game as the home page of a Subaru or Mitsubishi (for example) importer?
Doesn't have to be GT4 or PGR2 or CM4 or Forza or etc......

With GT4 pics, it always puts the copyright signiture on it. As long as that was still displayed I don't see what the problem would be as you're acknowledging the original copyright?

Same here, but then my card only accepts RF or S-Video. If you used a device that use component inputs and supports HD resolutions then you'd get good results
