Angry Blasted Vodafone 3G card & their blasted 0870 support!

Grrrr

I've setup several Voda 3G cards for my customers as they are currently free with some of the Toshiba range. So I got one for myself.

First there was an hour of 0870 calls to get the SIM activated. Now the thing still won't work. Taking a Voda SIM out my cellphone & putting it in the 3G Card, I can't connect. Putting my 3G Card SIM in the phone, I can connect to the network. So, not the SIM, it's the drivers/3G card? I uninstalled, rebooted & re-installed the 3G software & still the same problem. I get flashing lights on the 3G card that seem to indicate that it can see the network. I've checked that my software is the latest version.

Any other thoughts please?

Had a similar problem with the Orange 3G/GPRS cards and it turned out we had to use a different connection profile in the Orange control software as they did not support our internal network range!

Although I'm not sure this is any help as you say your phone connects ok - hmmm........

Default A fix!

I spoke to a very helpful Voda techie just now who took me through changing the allocated com ports in device manager from com5 & com7 to com50 & com51. It works fine now.
