Default Telewest Cable broadband....coax cable type

I need move a connection point, and after the mess the last installer left, I'd rather do it myself

...just need to know what coax cable type they use.

I currently have it bodged up with some RG59 and some aerial coax - works too!...obviously I'd rather do the job properly with more suitable cable though

TIA

RG6, CT100 or WF100. NTL/Telewest may even use RG11.

All of them are 75 Ohm impedence (including your RG59), so it's all about signal loss after that.

What sort of distances are you talking about? Doubt you'll notice any difference with short cables.

Stefan

P.S. If you split the signal or do any signal distribution then a good quality cable will handle it better.

Cheers, so it's not that fussy as long as the S/N ratio is good

Length of the cable is about 10metres max so i'ts nothing major

thanks
