Download and install the following:

Spybot 1.4
Lavasoft ad-aware

and auto-update to the latest definitions.

Then run full scans using both.

Also make sure your anti-virus is up to date and run a full system scan if you havent already and visit the microsoft windows update and make sure you have all the latest security fixes.

Firefox is a good browser and might be worth a look if you fancy a change from IE.

Any box that comes up, no matter what it says do not click yes. It's probably adding itself to favourites because a box pops up saying "is this the best website ever!!" with yes as the only option, click yes and it will add itself to favourites.

Stop looking at ****?

Ahem

I downloaded stopzilla which has slowed the computer down a lot , i've downloaded no-ads (but i have to manually select the pages to stop popping up), is firefox easier (i mean for me) to use than IE? - do you have a link to their site?

Thanks

Firefox will even let you import your IE favourites!
