Half-Life2 - backup maps?
Hi,
I need to rebuild my machine but I don't want to loose all my downloaded maps from HalfLife 2 -save me downloading them all over again. Does anyone know if this can be done?
Cheers
Frank

open up steam, click on play games, then go to half life 2 and right click then click on backup game files.
Im not sure if this just backs up the actual game though so you dont need to download all that again.
when i tried to use it to back up my CS files iu dont think it backed up my CS maps. Supose easiest way to do it is to find the maps folder in your HL2 directory.
Im not 100% sure how to do with HL2 but thats what you can do with CS.

I've just done a reformat of my hard drive. I took the 'saves' folder out of my Hl2 directory and put it in my 'My docs' folder, (using 'Files Transfer Wizard' to save my computer files and settings) and just put it back where it came from when I had finished doing the reformat. Presumably you could do the same with yr maps??
