Crashing Tecta T9100
Hi Guys,
I have a tecra t910 with 256MB installed. Basically its in as a repair job (new keyboard and HDD) I installed the new keyboard and disk and every time I try and install XP from the tosh install disks it gets all funky and turns itself off at random points in the install.
I have put in a known good disk and the problem still occurs. I have put in the old keyboard and it still occurs.
I ran memtest 86 and its fine.
Any ideas etc? Please dont say knacked mobo as we have just bought in the parts at £150 to fix it. Strange thing was, before I installed the new keyboard it would boot ! Dont think ive done anything to it tbh.

how long did you run memtest for?
Try unpluging the on-borad keyboard completely and use PS2 from the back.
Did it have XP on before? - if not try a BIOS update - usually fixes lots of stuff.

MEMTEST86 - the bootable cd / floppy should be ran over night for best results. It didn't pick up my memory errors till about hour 6
/edit
is it a heat problem? are the fans cutting in? try sticking them to "max performance" in the bios when under mains power
/edit 2
Try removing the battery and just running it off mains

Just thought id let you know, kinda strange but if i did an advanced install rather than a bog standard one it was fine, been using it all afternoon with not so much as a hiccup.
