Default Java J2SE 5.0 Issues

I have this installed on my pc, and java windows run fine within Internet Explorer 6, but when I open up the Java control panel or Limewire (which requires Java), these application windows appear blank. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling Java with no change.

Anyone got any ideas?

Darren

There were a lot of changes in the latest version of Java which have required a few coding changes in certain apps, (some older Java apps simply do not work with it properly). Might be the cause of the problem.

Have you tried opening the java console (is this what you mean by the java contro panel?) and seeing if there are any errors being reported?

Sorted. Apparently it is an issue when you have anti aliasing enabled in the ATI Catalyst Control Panel

Ah, not heard of that one before. I'll bear it in mind for the future
