I can only save as bitmap.....whats going on?

I can only save as bitmap.....whats going on?
I've always saved pics off the net as jpeg,but now when i right click and save as,it only offers me bitmap.
I want jpeg.
i recently installed XP pro?????Is there a setting i can change?
