Question Pop ups not allowed, even when links?

Hi superior computer people,

Got a problem with IE. It's like this. Click on a link in a thread or even an email, it stalls for a minute or so, then goes back to the page the link was on. Have no other pop up blocker software installed, it just won't let us click links which open a new browser.

Have had a virus which has been cleaned. What's going on?

TIA
Clare

Which version of Windows do you have? If it is XP with Service Pack 2 then it comes with a built in pop up blocker. If you want to allow a popup, just below the address bar on the IE screen, you should see a yellow(ish) bar. Click on that & it should give you the option to allow pop ups from that site.
To turn it off completely, go to TOOLS-POP-UP BLOCKER to turn it off.

Could be a messed up piece of spyware, try MS Antispyware or buy some. I very much doubt it's a virus.
