i commited tens of hours of practise on deltaforce, and B2Z can still confirm i couldn't shoot a barn door at 5 paces!!!!!!
it was fun taking part though. (and getting repeatedly shot)

Cheat and get banned from your account by Valve. I'm sure there will be ways to do it for those people sad enough to get around the Valve Anti Cheat System (VAC) but tbh games are supposed to be played for fun, and wheres the fun in cheating?

I'm total crap at Halo 2 online, but I still play, why? because it is fun, and I am getting better, same goes for other online games.

Cheating offline is ok I guess, but online, forget it. a) You'll be banned, b) it's not big, it's not hard, it's not clever.

We all have to start at the bottom and work our way up.

 

VAC2 are currently beta-testing and montoring most online registered servers. If they detect anyone of haxing (cheating) you will be banned from every official online server.

There is a fine-line between haxing and scripting. Whilst many associate haxing with aimbots, speedhacks, wallhacks etc. many tweak their .cfg files to increase FPS and hit-box;s etc. What really ***** me off with CSS is that you are never on a level playing field with the other players. Grfx cards, ISP speed and more importantly CPU speed makes a huge difference with CSS. 2 players with equal reactions will have differing success if one uses a ATi 9600 AMD 2200+ and the other a P4 3.0Ghz with x800 GFx card.

Much as it pains me to say it, consoles offer a far more level playing field as a) you need broadband to access the services and b) in theory all the consoles/software are the same.

 

Cheating is the last thing you want to do, far too many of them as there is who are ruining the game for genuine players.

Chances are if you hack you will be banned. It is obvious when people cheat, I know if I seen you cheating on my server I would record a demo to send to steam bans before banning you as would allot of other admins.

Also allot of hacks that are available to download of the net contain virus's, so you risk screwing up your comp.

Your best bet is to just practice, it may take some time but it will be more rewarding playing fairly than cheating.

Try visiting www.steampowered.com and having a look at the CS source forums, there will be plenty of tips and advice that will help improve your game.

Also what type of servers are you playing on, you may not be as crap as you think. Could be just playing on clan servers which are full of experienced players.

I know UK2 offer beginner servers for 1.6 not sure about source though. They are there especially for novice players to practice. When a player reaches 10 kills or more they are kicked and banned to stop experienced players beating new players.

If UK2 do not have them for source try downloading Game spy arcade and typing Beginner into the Server name box. I’m sure there will be beginner servers out there some where.

I highly recommend you do cheat. Its always good when ***** get banned from all the server. The only servers you will be able to play on is 'cheat' servers that will be full of others using them so you will have no advantage.

Try this cheat :

1.) Place the cross-hair of your weapon on the head of the enemy
2.) Press the fire button until he falls down, preferably before he has the chance to shoot back.
3.) Repeat until all enemies are dead.

bighead if you're gonna play css your going to have to get used to dying really quickly by someone you've never even seen and waiting 15 minutes while the "experienced" players creep around at opposite sides of the map.

When you do die, get used to be called a noob.
If you kill a clan player get used to be called a lucky noob
Get used to everyone talking in a language you don't understand.
NEVER call a vote to change the map.
NEVER make a mistake.
NEVER use a big gun that will kill people (noob)

As everyone else says, practice a lot. Aim for the head not the feet. I can't tell you how many terrorists are limping around because of me.

Cry like a baby the first time you get 5 kills in a game.

 

aiming for the head is not always the way to go

Depending on what gun you are using aim for the feet allowing the cross hairs to move us with the recoil.

Also espechially when using the M4 or Ak dont try and fire a full clip into some one. You are best of firing controlled short bursts.

 

I have seen JJones cheat on numerous CSS servers, his sort make me sick!

 

It really is a case of practice, practice and more practice. When I first started playing CSS it was so frustrating getting shot within seconds of starting a map then waiting ages for the better players to finish up.

I've been playing for a month or so now pretty much every day (god that sounds bad ) and last night I finally got to 50 kills in a round

its usually VERY busy but is a cracking server... dont often get people cheating but they are kicked fairly quickly if they are...

Cheating is pathetic, there is no fun in it, just ruins it for others. I started playing early january and was pants. took til last month before I became a reasonable player who gets a score ratio of 1:1
