C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.Choose 'Close'to terminate the application.

And you have an otion of close or ignore but both do the same close the window and thats it HELP !!!!!

Pongo, how did you go about uninstalling the software, did you use Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel??

Also what operating system are you using?

Talking

I am also running XP Pro and also had a problem with a Printer recently. Problems uninstalling, so removed usb connection, turned pc and printer off.

PC on - reinstalled CD for printer. Reconnected USB, turned printer on.
First time it failed to fully configure

Switched all off

Restarted PC
Connected USB
Restarted Printer

All sorted

This is a common problem with Epson printers.

The autoexec.nt file somehow corrupts when you uninstall a printer driver and leaves you unable to re-install the status monitor for your printer.

If you drop an e-mail to; paul@diskdepot.co.uk I will forward you on a step-by-step fix (you need your windows disc), when i get in, in the morning.
