Default Windows XP Media Centre Edition

Looking at this product it appears to do everything I want it to, currently use a standard copy of XP to record from sky digital via a capture card but would like to put a bit more of a GUI on the whole process.

The thing is, Im not going to go out and shell hard cash until im convinced I can use it in a real world scenario. So the question is, Do Microsoft offer some sort of functional trial version of operating systems, even if it were just 10 days or so to evaluate it?

Cheers

David

AFAIK Windows XP media edition is not available to be bought as a separate operating system. I think it is only available with a new computer.

Aha, that would explain the complete lack of information or a trial then!

The OEM version is listed on eBuyer, although it does state that it will only be bundled with a "non-peripheral hardware component" - how strict are they on this? And does the hardware component have to be of a certain value/status?

I'm curious as I quite fancy getting an OEM version of XP home for my build which is subject to the same clause...
