The most expensive CDR-W Drive in modern history
Where's Angrynorth? I told him before about Apple's reputation for cheap spares
He did say that most Apple kit can be had off eBuyer for much cheapness.
Stefan
P.S. At least that includes VAT

That's what you get for asking for a quote from Apple direct.
How about upping it to a Dual Layer 16x DVD writer for £54 instead. Or any other internal OEM CDR drive for that matter. Search ebuyer and you will find loads, pretty much any internal generic drive will work.
Tip: Don't buy direct from Apple in the future! RAM from Crucial, bits from ebuyer/dabs/anywhere. Just not Apple.

Now then
I have tried this and guess what, the plastic facia on the CDR drive is too wide to eject the tray through the G4 plastic case opening(apple design
. It just hits it and doesn't move. Didnt realise this till I came to test the thing. I looked a right tit. The apple one appears with a very slimline bezel.
Also I cannot find 1 single company in the entire UK that can supply this drive, hence why I went to apple.

There are a few other members on here who have also replaced their CD drives. If you search the forums there may be a few helpful results.
