Default Car PDA (ipaq) mounts

Evening all

Can anybody suggest a decent vent mounted mount for an ipaq 2210 for use in the car?

Cheers

I'd forget the vent mount idea and go for a gooseneck. I just bought an ipaq 4150 and Seidio amplified mount a couple of weeks ago.

The mount came with all the gubbins for either vent or gooseneck and I tried the vent mount first. The weight of the mount and ipaq tilted the vent down to such an extent that the screen wasn't easily seen even with the swivel mount pushed fully upwards (this was in a Legacy). I then tried the gooseneck and this has been great.

I'm assuming that you are asking this because you will be using satnav. I'd suggest getting an amplified mount (if you haven't bought the mount already). Things to get used to are the sudden fright when you've been driving 18 miles along an A road and a loud voice says "In 400 yards, bear left", and a similar effect when you're having a conversation on the (hands free) phone and a similar instruction is shouted out.

I have used these clips on quite a few of my cars and they work great, plus they are cheap as well.

Checkout www.theclip.com

I always use the vent mount, http://www.theclip.com/Vent_Mount_p_16152.html
although there are loads of other ones.

The cup holder mount is a good idea as it can be removed really quickly.
Incidently i have an ipaq 3630 and providing it is in its leather case it fits perfectly in my 03 WRX cup holder as there is a small notch for the cup handles.
No movement whatsoever, even on country lanes etc.

I've used brodit mounts for ages, currently have their 2210 on the centre vent of my A4, and it's great, no unwanted movement at all.

cheers,

greg
