If you not PC savvy I would try using this 15 day trial from McAfee

Make sure you update the DAT files(Signature Files) before running it

The removal instructions on Symantec's site explain what Safe Mode is and how to get into it, and how to edit the registry...

You did say that Norton wouldnt remove it so I suggested you try McAfee as it can remove processes running

Go ahead and make sure you are upto date with your Norton Sig Files or do as above and have a read and do it manually

If you do download the McAfee trial, once it's installed there's an update button in Security Center.
