Blackberry 7230 - anyone here use them?
Hi all
We've got these on test currently. Using with Lotus Notes 6.0. On the face of it, the thing is fantastic. Makes keeping up with emails a doddle whilst travelling.
There do seem to be some funnies in it though. If you use one of the 7230 have you found the following:
1. Making call notes against a telephone call - if the caller hangs up you must hide the notes before the bb disconnects otherwise the notes are lost - saving the notes makes no difference to this
2. There are no hotkeys to take you from the desktop to the applications - especially messages
3. It only recognises tel nos in an email if they are preceded by a +
If any one can answer the above I'd be v grateful. Also any hints or tips gratefully received
Thanks

Likewise, I'm still evaluating and getting to grips with them. The 7230 I have, was sent over from the US sent over for use with our BES in Houston. I had it at the weekend, but I've passed it to a colleague for the time being.
Personally, I'd hate to have one, otherwise I'd have a permanent email monkey on my shoulder.

Well ours are now up and rolling ...
( Beware of the patches , if the patch install fails it rolls itself back - and blows away the database as well )
Got any good app reccomendations ? Got an SSH client

How good is the SSH client, is it SSH 1 and 2? I presume it handles IMAP ok? I was looking at getting one, but still think a small, expensive laptop is what I need.

It does ssh1 & 2 no probs. Screen is a little small for anything too complicated tbh. There's a nice browser so I can get to the bigbrother server over the vpn.

I hate the things, pile of crap and would much rather have everyone on pdas with pocket pc and a built in phone.
Having to navigate with that crappy roller is just plain irritating instead of a stylus point and click. Boss leaves his on his desk as he dislikes it so much and doesn't take it anywhere, think he must be hoping the cleaners will nick it or something, would be far easier if he just stuck it in the bin where it belongs
