Exclamation X Box Live and LAN

My PC is connected to 1Mb broadband, my son wishes to play X Box Live, I'm told this will mean disconnecting my PC whilst he plays. Is it possible to set up a router / wireless LAN to avoid this disconnection - as I need my PC connected for work?
Many thanks

Yes this is possible. I have a similiar setup at home with a DSL router and a couple of PC's connected through it. With a 1MB line you should have NO issues.

1 wireless router. 3 wireless PCi cards and a wireless bridge for the xbox.

You can choose your own wireless router, depends on how you get your broadband.

but be aware if you are on your PC using lots of bandwidth it could affect the performance of XBox Live.

Question Clarify please

I'm using an Asus SK8V M/B with an AMD Athlon 64 FX-53 CPU, presumably i should use the optional Asus W/LAN card on this?
The broadband at present goes straight to an external modem, and then to the PC. In the new set up I imagine the router goes between the modem and the PC, or am I barking up the completely wrong tree here?
thanks for the help folks, keep it coming

I've read somewhere that the XBox can take upto 400K of bandwidth. If you're using the 1Mb connection, the XBox games are going to lag like mad.

as is said above you can network the xbox and use internet connection share or straight into the net if you have the kit. The problem is the upload on your connection. I've got 1Meg in but only 256k out ..... this means for lag if my girlfriend goes on the net at the same time
