evil 2600 Barton
Ok , bought a 2600 Barton off a colleuge , then thought hmmm lets get a barebone shuttle. As i was working away just now ive just realised that the Barton is 333 FSB and the shuttle i am getting motherboard is 266 FSB, ok we thought we just have to change the multiplier........wrong, silly me again has just realised the the shuttles motherboard doesnt allow you to change the multiplier. so what ive got now is a 2600 Barton thats going to run at an amzing 1.4 oooooh wow. luckily ive got a 2100 i can clock to a 2200 sitting doing nothing so at least the shuttle will have atleast some juice.
Anyone got any ideas how i can get the 2600 Barton in the 266 motherboard running at a decent speed.
Someone suggested that if i cant manually adjust the multiplier, the motherboard may do it automatically so i should put in the 2600 and see what happens............im not conviced, the default multiplier is 11.5 so it will be 11.5 x 133 = 1.5

AFAIK the bartons are unlocked both in multiplier and FSB. my 2500 is running quite nicely @ 3200 thank you.
Can the board be exchanged for something like an abit or asus. Something in the back of my head tells me these shuttle boards are mega small to fit in a tiny footprint and if thats the case then a new board will not suffice even though its a much better option versatility wise.
you only other option is to try the multiplier sorry.
cheers

Which model shuttle have u got ? the sn41g2 deffo supports 333 FSB ...
The one before it the XPC SK41G, was my own fault , i read it supported 2600 and thought that will run the barton , but forgot that it was meaning the 2600 throroughbred.
Just been looking at the motherboard, im really hoping my winfast GFti4600 will fit as it has a pretty big heatsink and there is a capacitor right next to the AGP slot. fingers crossed, tonight when i get home shuttle will be there so i`ll will find out if all works
