Default Comprehensive net history deletion?

Ok, my friend wants to know how to cover his tracks in the most effective way. He knows about deleting cookies, deleting Temp files (including offline content) and clearing the URL bar, but he says that there are other files on the PC which store the same information.
Any ideas how best to cover my er I mean HIS tracks on the internet?
Cheers,
astraboy.

MOST effective way is to low level format your ( I mean his) PC and rebuild it. Failing to do that, search the net. There are heaps of programs that claim to be able to delete files like your index.dat, application logs, history etc. Check out evidence eliminator, I have read some decent reviews of it.

Home or business?

If it's business then, with a decent network set-up, you're already screwed!

Home, I'd say have a mooch around downloads.com to see what's popular.

As far as I'm aware, this is only a local solution. I believe all traffic is monitored at ISP level, so if you're into something naughty, the likes of evidence eliminator won't help !

Happy to be proved wrong though.

A local solution wont help you if there's a firewall, as its all in the log.
