Chipping the XBox - Some FAQs?
OK peeps,
This will no doubt have been covered before, but bear with me!
I've been considering chipping my XBox for a while now, but been slightly confused over the exact benefits I'll gain from doing so.
TBH, it all seems a bit complicated with phrases such as "FTPing", "Dashboards" and "Bios" being bandied about Whilst I know *roughly* what they are, I'm not sure how they're relevant! Once I've got my chip installed, can I simply just use my 'backup' games, or do I need to do some other jiggery pokery (possibly involving aforementioned phrases )?
Also, to get some real benefit from chipping it, are a DVD burner and/or a larger HD for the XBox required?
With respect to the chipping part itself, the Xbox lives in the same place, and I've never soldered a bean in my life, so was looking at the Xecuter 2.3 (?) with the pogo pin bit so I can avoid making a mess of the internals! Had a quick look at the Team Xecuter website, and there's mention of an Xecuter 3 coming soon. Worthwhile holding off for this one?
Yours confusingly!
PS I'm sure there's the goodwill of a few other ScoobyNetters waiting for someone who can provide a decent FAQ to these common questions!

Some homework
Nothing wrong with the pogo pin chips, they work just fine and do not damage your X-Box Unless you have fingers like Bernard Matthews and wiggle it about too much, then obviously you will scratch the traces on the board because the main pins are quite sharp to get a good contact.
