Yeh Ive completed it and would like to know that to, I think its just a 'prize' when u get the Mystikal. You do get better cars as you get further, I believe the best base car u can get is the Skyline GTR, then all u can do is max it out with the upgrades. Also I would like to know how u get the upgrade to change the colours on the vinyl layers, Im sure u can do that to. Quality game, but too easy to complete imo.

Si,

getting there now! 94/111 and counting, I use the skyline almost exclusively except for drift mode where the suby slips and slides like a good un and you can really crank up outrageous bonus points.

Racing on hard level will give you more style points and therefore will unlock some of the vinyls and special cars quicker.

See here for a good FAQ. Its for the PS2, but the same applies for XBox too.

The Skyline is the best out of the lot !

BTW, you can change the vinyl layer colours on the layer select screen Just press X (Xbox)

Some of the levels I found it easier to downgrade your car as it also downgrades your opponents On about race 105 and got fed up

finished it a while back, was pretty good.

sorry to say this but by far the best car on there is the mx5 add all your mods to it and its the fastest and best handleing car.

some of the levels really frustrated me, theres a 7 lapper if i remember right, can be 1st all the way around then on the last bend clip a kerb and your last ARGH!!! almost threw the disc out the window

First install the vinyl that you want and then highlight the vinyl
slot with the mouse, but DON'T click on it. Now, move the mouse
down below and across to the bit marked "Vinyl colour". Click on
this and you can choose the colour. This is a bit odd as the rest
of the interface is intuitive and can be operated with the
keyboard. Be careful that you don't highlight the wrong vinyl slot.

fitz,

know what you mean Im on the 7 lapper now, but the one I just did the 6 lapper must have taken me 35/40 attempts absolutely no room for error at all!

I reckon it cheats anyway I know you probably have catch up but in the few occasions where you have 5 or more seconds lead the chasing cars seem to take 2/3 seconds off your lead within half or lap or less even if you dont make any mistakes!

Great game though

Pfft its easy u just have to enter each corner in a certain gear/speed and once uve sussed that tis simple. You shouldnt need to touch the brakes. Agreed on the 6/7 lappers its harder to keep the concentration up to not make any mistakes, but I won every race out of the 111 or however many it is the 1st time. Worst case was about 3 attempts max. I guess playing CMR4 helped me, coz that is properly hard later on. The most annoying thing about NFSU are the pointless dragstrip races.

I thought theses were quite good, infact i probably prefered these and the drift races over the normal runs. Otherwise i think it would have got old fast.

Does break up the monotony, but they are far too easy.
