email from unknown person

email from unknown person
Hi
i have just recieved an email from 'anne' i do not know this person and in capitals the subject is 'important'
i have got an up to date Norton anti virus (just tried to update now but it is already up to date) and the free version of zonealarm (i might try to see if there are any update, but it is only about 1 to 2 months since i loaded it)
i suppose it is possible for something to bypass my virus checker and firewall.
Would you open the email? it might be a genuine email from somebody?

another one states on the e-mail checked for virus, 100% clear.
just delete it mate.
