WinUAE - yes another Amiga thread :p
After playing about with this last night I can get games to load etc but cant get the config to save. How the hell do I get it to save its settings - ie like the default kickstart points to the kickstart file I have plus graphics settings and stuff like that. Each time I open the program I have to reconfigure it each time. I tried saving as a new config but it doesnt load it when it opens up.
And a big thanks to Mr.Cookie for helping me out last night with the correct kickstart files etc to get the emulator up and running

No worries as a basic though set everything up then choose save as type in a name Amiga type (A1000, A500, A600, A1200 etc) or game that it runs with etc it will then show up in config window as option when you boot UAE, then just double click these to boot chosen spec

Sadly I never did anything with my amiga apart from stick game floppy disks in it. I have heard all about how amazing they are for sound sampling etc but do they have any other good uses as well? (no "they make a good door stop" type answers please )

Mate when someone can explain to me a valid reason why the word echo appears at the top of a batch file and what it does etc (and I have been told it doesnt even need to be there so why is it?) then i may start to understand batch files.
Standard dos commands etc and stringing them together I can understand but when terms get thrown in for no apparent reason like echo then it makes no sense to me

Don't ask me i have to have a quick nose through google just to recap on somethings, usually where variables go etc
mind something like this caused me endless amusement
ECHO OFF
ECHO What's your name
pause
ECHO I'm sorry your not authorised to use this terminal
pause
ECHO Oi i thought i told you to go away
pause
ECHO Fine be like that i'm not talking to you any more
pause

But then i am easily pleased

Why would you want the commands of a batch file to be sent to the screen? IE if I did a batch file to map a network drive then I dont need to see what its doing.
Seriously though I reckon I am the only IT bod here who cant do batch files. Is there a website where I can learn a bit more on the creation of batch files and commands etc? Its just slightly embarrasing being in support and not being able to do the most simple of batch files (will also see if I have an old book on DOS at home)
