Ok,
my house media server is about ready to go together.
The spec will be
my old A7N8X Rev 1.03 mobo (my Rev 2.0 board is in my main workstation)
Athlon XP 2500+ barton
2 x Corsair XMS DDR333 256mb in dual channel mode
Asus FX5200 128mb cheapo AGP Card
TEAC 16x DVD Reader
LG 4x DVD-/+ burner
So.
The only thing left to spec is the storage system.
I want to use the built-in SATA Raid controller to run a pair of 250gig SATA150 drives as a mirror. 25gig system volume and 225gig data volume. Pretty sure the controller will support SATA150 drives.
Has anyone got the integrated Silicon Image Raid controller on this board working with Windows 2003 server ? If so, any tips on where to get the drivers from as I'm sure I'll need to at them as a 3rd party SCSI driver at install time.
Does anyone know where I can find documentation on the SATA Controller and its bios as ASUS don't provide anything.
As always, answers on a postcard.
Ian.
