iPAQ 2210 and Tom Tom 2 Problems
Hi People,
Just installed Tom Tom Navigation 2 with GPS and Bluetooth. All is going well with the navigation.
The problem is that after using Tom Tom once. Closing the application upon my arrival. Then using Tom Tom to go to my next destination, results with the wait icon circling indefinatly.
There are no tasks running.
I then go to the diagnostics application which tells me i need a soft reset. I do the soft reset. The above cycle begins again.
Any ideas?

Using BT GPS?
Something rings a bell.
How are you disconnecting from the BT device? Walking away, switching it off first or what?
I always exit the application (from the TTN2 menu not the x in the corner) & wait until the BT serial connection is dropped, then turn off the BT device.
It sort of sounds like the BT Manager hasn't released the device but when you run a new instance, it tries to select the Com, but can't have it 'cos it's still thinking the device is connected from the 1st instance. This then performs the waiting cycle (until com is released for TTN2).
I don't know the BT Manager for the 2210, but if its not dis-connecting, try shutting BT Manager down after use, then opening before trying again.

Puff The Magic Wagon. Thanks for your reply.
I am disconnecting from the device using the Tom Tom, exit application menu. TBH, i did not consider the serial connection before i turn off the BT device - I am just happily turning the BT device off
Tonight i will look at the iPAQ BT manager to check the serial connection is dropped before i turn off the BT device.
Thanks again, i will post my results later

Update - this evening i used the Tom Tom navigation software. On completing my journey, i used the Tom Tom exit application menu to close the software. Next, rather than turn the BT device off, i opened the iPAQ bluetooth manager and turned BT off at the iPAQ. Then i turned the BT device off.
Now, the next time i use the Tom Tom software i expect to have the wait icon circuling indefinatly
Well what actually happens is Tom Tom works fine

Repeat, repeat and repeat - all good.
It appears that turning BT off at the iPAQ BEFORE turning off the BT device solves my problems.
Thank you Puff, for pointing me in the right direction
Kind regards
