As title. With the link cable (which I presume is just a normal UTP Crossover cable), can you transfer saved games/profiles like you can if you have a memory card?

Cheers,

Matt

Yes, if they are chipped and you use XB-FTP. XB-FTP allows you to FTP between X-Boxes

Edit: Yes, its just a X-over cable.

that site have some software which allows you to backup your save games to your pc or download save games off the net and transfer them to your xbox.

make sure you know your ftp addy for your xbox tho. you can set this in evox.

Ian,

If you mean, you can make me up a X-over cable, thanks but don't worry, I've got 1m and 3m cables (and presumably, if the Xboxes were at my house, I could just plug them both into my switch....).

So, what I wasn't quite clear about is:

1. Can I use a normal X-Over cable as a "system link" cable if I was to connect up two Xboxes to link up play - it sounds like the answer is, yes.

2. Can I copy/backup game settings from one to the other, this sounds like no, unless I install some software on the box(s) first?

Ta,

Matt

As long as both machines are chipped, you can run XB-FTP from a disc on both machines and FTP files between them.
