3.5" IDE

There is a guide on one of the sites which lists the models to look out for, very important if you want to go onto Live with it, that you get one which can be 'Locked'

All the best

I installed a Seagate Barracuda ATA V 120Gb UDMA100 (ST3120023A) in mine. The original drive was a U series 5 Segate drive, so I stuck with them. Either Seagate or Western Digital are recommended.

Well I bought mine well over a year ago, but they are £75 on EBuyer now (as much as I loathe them ) It does get a little warm, but its never caused me a single problem, even with serious use.

Not a major hassle for me at the moment, just means that I cant play on Live, which is a good thing in some ways!

I may change it for a 120Gb when ICBA.

Would this do the job at £77

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 160GB 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-012-MD)

Link http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Maxtor_Hard_Drives_9.html

Or Does it have to be 5400RPM.

Anyone know if these lock?

Ian

I know mate, still don't make me feel better, i'm a sensitive soul ya know

Thorpem

Not sure if it's lockable or not only issues i've heard, and this is more generalised to higher spin drives is that they may generate more heat, having said that my WD's are 7200

Si
Ps i'm bored at mo so i'll troll through the web see what i can find
