Hey up,
Looking at doing a simple web site, What resolution should I design it for?
Do most people use 1024x786 these days?

Thanks

I think the industry standard for large corperate website is still 800x600 (have a look most big sites are, epecially flash based ones).

But it's generally accepted that most people have 1024x768, so it is acceptable. That is what I use. Fits just nicely on my screen when creating sites in Dreamweaver using 1280x1024 screen res

you can acheive that either by using frames (urgh) or a centrally align'd (borderless) table.

Nice One Thanks all,
That seems to be the easiest way, keep it in all in the middle.
Just tried it and looks fine.

Thanks Andy

Don't use frames if you want search engines to rank your site highly.

Ideally, the web site should be suitable for any resolution.

Don't use style sheets to limit font sizes - some people may be trying to view your site on an 1600x1200 screen. Some people may also be visually impaired.

Get familiar with <TABLE> and use it centre and span the whole width of the screen. I suppose Scoobynet is a good example of this.
