I'm doing some planned maintenance on the companies exhange system and I wanted to clarify a few pointers before I get carried away:

Usually we run ISINTEG prior to the actual defrag (eseutil) to ensure the database top level indexes are in good condition. This process can take upto 13hours on our system. Once this completes we run the defrag.

Is it neccessary to run ISINTEG and can you get away without running it and do you risk doing any damage.

IIRC I don't think it is necessary, however it's good practise if you can spare the downtime.
