Have just set up a home network for me, 'she who must be obeyed' and my sons, using a US Robotics "Sure Connect" router and a Dlink 10/100 Ethernet Switch.
Question is, can I disble my sons' connection every evening via software, rather than pulling the cable out of the Dlink switch?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know that particular router, so the following may or may not be possible. If you know what it is that you're trying to stop them doing, why not just block the ports that pass the relevant traffic. Set the DHCP lease to something appropriately long, so you know which PC is which. The block the right ports; say 80 and 8080 for HTTP (port number list) etc. Don't forget to password protect the admin utility on the router!

Hope this is possible on your device. It's a bit laborious to do regularly, but it would probably do the job.

Use Netvizor or Spyagent (both by Spytech)

You can both look after their interests online (as any caring parent should) as well as actually restrict applications AND lock the computer down totally at certain times.
