Unhappy

Heads up guys,

I have received 2 emails with the Header "Paypal" in them, indicating there is an issue with my Paypal account. 2 problems; I don't have a Paypal account and secondly, each message has carried a virus (*32.exe, can't quite remember what it was).

Please beware and be aware; thank goodness for Norton's anti virus.

Cheers

WB

I'm receiving loads to my work address (not my paypal one!), but the thought police don't pass on the details so I can't send them on to Paypal!!!

Someone who has your email address in their address book and obviously doesn't have an Anti-Virus programme is infected by a virus and because of this, the virus is sending out all these emails.

I am getting loads of these type mails, but luckily my mail server picks them up first

Sender: (<Do_Not_Reply@paypal.com&gt

W32/Mimail-J
Aliases
infected: I-Worm.Mimail.j, W32/Mimail.j@MM virus, W32.Mimail.J@mm, WORM_MIMAIL.J

Type
Win32 worm

Description
W32/Mimail-J is a worm very similar to W32/Mimail-I. This variant tries to get you to give up your credit card details, just like W32/Mimail-I, but also asks you for additional personal information such as your Social Security Number and your mother's maiden name.
W32/Mimail-J drops itself to your Windows folder using the names SvcHost32.exe and ee98af.tmp. It also creates fake PayPal web pages in your root directory using the names pp.hta and index2.hta. These web pages include scripts which ask you for the personal information described above.

i've had them since before Christmas.

my anti AVG virus picks up on them.. but says that some it can't delete or Heal....Why?

I go in to Seach for folders etc.. seach for the waord PAYPAY.
It finds a file that contains it.. and i delete it!!
Next anti virus check and it says i'm all clear... trouble is... PayPal Emails are coming 5+ times a day now.

also it automatically places an Email in my Delete Folder on OE and not just in my Inbox.
So is you open the delete folder.. My Anti Virus tells me there are virus attatched the the Email document!!

If i don't open them and perminatly delete them.. are we ok?
