I am a happy camper
I've been a bit doubtful of these Bayesian filtering spam things, but I got fed up of spam on my work mail so in exasperation tried SpamBayes, which is an open source filter that also has a version that works as an add-in for Outlook 2000 or better.
It's *perfect*.
It's free (as in speech and beer), and is spot on when it comes to doing the job. Training it was easy, as I had a handy supply of spam in deleted items, and a load of good mails and the thing has a wizard to sort it out for you.
So far today it has junked 48 emails spot on, and has not put anything that I want in the spam directory. It has ranked one mail as "possible spam", but it puts those messages in a different folder and gives you a handy button to recover the mail.
Best of all, it learns as it goes along , so it learns from its successes and failures.
Spammers don't stand a chance against this. All the wierd mumbo jumbo they put in there doesn't wrongfoot it.
I am bloody impressed . If you're suffering, try it!
Cheers,
nick.

Well mine's installed - didn't like the windows installer, but it was no hassle to do the python / win32ext / source.
Just thrown a few 1000 messages at it to train
