Reib,
Just because you charge £220, it does not mean that you get that in your pocket. The last company I worked charged my time to clients between £450 ->£750 per day (7.5 hour day), which is totally crazy. I only do desktop support. Of this money, I got my annual wage wage (16.5k) work that out per hour per day. They charged £100 per hour, I saw about £6 or £7 of that BEFORE TAX. God knows where the other £93 went. The company folded and made almost all redudant
Then I got a better job

Anyone got any figures for PC support charges?
Small companies requiring some PC work done.
You know the sort of things, e.g. install software,
setup a new machine, track down problems,
network a number of machines,
setup a wireless network,
Introduce a backup system etc.
The stuff that small companies need but they
have no computing staff.
Small company, hourly rate?
This will be in Wales so I guess a little
different from London rates.
Please Email me if you don't want to post charges
on the BBS.
All help appreciated.

used to do similar for £15.00 per hour on standby and £65.00 per hour or £220.00 per full day on actual support - Belfast rates...
We had 10 people working flat out as the big outsource companies wouldn't look at anything below £380.00 a day

I as reasonably lucky leaving uni, took me 6 months to find a decent job but now have a good computing job, 17k starting from uni which wasnt too bad (3 pay reviews a year as well) and job security is pretty much guarenteed.
